Preserving media

How to keep coverage available if the original post disappears

Embedded posts and backlinks stop working when a publisher deletes or moves the source. The reliable approach is to obtain the original photo or video and written permission to host a copy in FGF’s own media library.

  • Request original files and publication permission

  • Store owned copies in the website or a managed cloud archive

  • Keep captions, dates, credits, and release records

  • Use a local thumbnail and short summary while linking to the publisher

  • Do not copy complete third-party articles without permission

A web archive link can be a backup reference, but it is not guaranteed and does not replace copyright permission.
